Organised by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, the 15th Japan International Manga Award is open to non-Japanese manga artists.
Both published and unpublished works are eligible, but Manga works should have been produced within three years proceeding the date of application (2018-2021) and must have been produced outside Japan.
Works have to be composed of minimum of 16 pages and must be submitted in electronic form (PDF) or printed form. Only one work may be accepted per comic artist.
There is no entry fee.
Open to anyone worldwide. Either the comic artist or story writer of the submitted work has to be a foreign national (non-Japanese).
The Gold Award and the Silver Award winners will be invited to Japan to attend the award ceremony. During their stay in Japan (approximately 10 days trip), they will also have the opportunity to exchange ideas with Japanese Manga creators, visit publishing companies and make an excursion to local sites.
